Sillies,
Today is the Fourth of July. Red, white, & blue. We celebrated by doing a lot of different things. Mommy's favorite: fireworks and sparklers. We visited with some dear friends who are in town before moving to Japan. They purchased fireworks and sparklers to help celebrate the Fourth. And they let us come play; come join in the fun. Started with the sparklers. J, you were brave enough to hold a sparkler on your own (or Mommy & Dada were crazy enough to let you). Your eyes lit up. You absolutely loved it. Next, our friend lit a round of fireworks. J, you freaked. Clung to Dada for dear life. L, you asked for more. Tried to run out and help. Both of your reactions were the opposite of what we had anticipated. Until "the BIG one". Our friend lit a crazy firework that started small but soon was too loud and too far reaching for most of the adults to handle. Both of you screamed like little babies (which is okay because you are babies). J, you made Dada take you inside and far away from the fireworks. L, your exact words after you finished screaming were "all done... MORE!?!" Silly little guy. At the end of the night, both of you were eager to play with the sparklers once more. With smiles on your faces. Love you boys.
Love,
Mommy
